My balcony's the most popular haunt on the block
When I found out this summer that I'd be moving into a flat with a balcony, my first thought was that I wanted to put up a birdfeeder. I finally got around to doing so yesterday, and it was the best thing I've done for myself in quite a while!
I didn't want anything that would hang loose, so I bought one made of wire that is meant to hang vertically, then strapped it horizontally to the balcony rail. Within minutes the great tits were investigating--suspicious at first, after just a day they're there almost constantly.
They were there when I woke up this morning.
I have also seen one blue tit:
But the great tits are big bullies. I've already seen how they chase each other and others away by raising their wings and looking menacing.
All so cute!
